Issues
& Options Report
As part of the preparation
of the Countywide Bicycle and Pedestrian
Plan, the Authority prepared an Issues
and Options Report that:
- Described existing
land use, infrastructure, and programs
that affect and support bicycling and
walking in Contra Costa,
- Assessed the needs
of pedestrians and bicyclists and conflicts
with and links to other modes of travel,
and
- Described the issues
facing walking and bicycling in Contra
Costa and identified ways of addressing
those issues.
The Issues and Options
Report was the subject of three workshops
held at the end of January 2002. At these
workshops, participants were asked to
help decide how to resolve the issues
identified and to help decide how to set
policies and priorities for the plan itself.
Authority staff and consultants used these
public comments and the responses to the
Issues and Options Report to prepare the
Countywide Bicycle and Pedestrian Plan.
