| To support
its modeling efforts, the Authority
maintains a Land Use Information System
(known as LUIS). The LUIS contains
the demographic information needed
to run the models, including the existing
and forecast number of households
and jobs by so-called “traffic analysis
zones”, or TAZs. The
Authority develops demographic forecasts
for the countywide travel demand
model. These forecasts are based
on ABAG’s Projections and were
subjected to an extensive local
review process in October 2006. The
resulting database is known as
LUIS-06.
The Authority also
maintains forecasts of households
and jobs for the Countywide Model,
which has 1,735 TAZ's and runs on
the TransCAD software
(version 4.8).
The files listed
below provide the most recent forecasts
of jobs and households for use in
the model. The Authority develops
these detailed forecasts from census-tract-level
forecasts prepared by the Association
of Bay Area Governments. These following
forecasts are consistent with the
ABAG Projections.

Tables
The following file
contains tables that summarize the
locally-reviewed households and jobs
forecasts for cities, towns and
unincorporated areas within Contra
Costa and the Alameda County
portions of Tri-Valley and compares
them to the initial ABAG forecasts:

The Authority’s
Countywide model uses one set of
land use data that is compatible
with a GIS shape file that is part
of the TransCAD model.
