East Central Traffic Management Study

The Authority is working with cities in Central and East Contra Costa to help find ways to make the morning commute a little easier. Through the East-Central Traffic Management Study, we've analyzed various strategies for improving the commute from East County to and through Central County. Based on this analysis, the cities have fashioned a strategy that:

Improves overall mobility,
Makes the operation of the system more efficient,
Minimizes diversion onto local neighborhood streets, and
Is flexible enough to address expected increases in travel in the corridor.

The study has built on the analysis already done by Concord and the other cities of Central County on the Kirker Pass/Ygnacio Valley Road traffic management program. The Authority oversaw the development of the study.
