In September 2016, the Authority released a Coordinated Call for Projects for funding available through three programs:

- One Bay Area Grant (OBAG 2)
- Measure J Transportation for Livable Communities (TLC)
- Measure J Pedestrian, Bicycle and Trail Facilities (PBTF)

The Metropolitan Transportation Commission (MTC) allocated the $56.1 million in federal funds to the Authority through its http://mtc.ca.gov/our-work/fund-invest/federal-funding/obag-2. The Authority has divided this funding into several sub-programs.

  • Safe Routes to School,
  • Federal Aid Secondary which funds improvements on rural roads,
  • Local streets and roads preservation, and
  • A competitive program for other eligible project types.

The Measure J TLC program will fund projects that support mixed-use, walkable and transit-accessible development as well as projects that encourage walking and bicycling. About $27.7 million is available through the TLC program.

The Measure J PBTF program will fund the construction of bicycle and pedestrian projects identified in the Authority’s Countywide Bicycle and Pedestrian Plan. About $7.6 million is available through the PBTF program.

In response, the Authority received 76 applications for funding. You can download the list of the projects submitted and the funding requested as well as the descriptions of the projects below.

The Authority and its committees have held a number of meetings on the coordinated OBAG 2 and Measure J call for projects and a number of future meetings are also scheduled as shown in the following table.
