The CTP provides the overall direction for achieving and maintaining a balanced and functional transportation system within Contra Costa - including a series of strategies and implementing actions - while strengthening links between land use decisions and transportation. It outlines the Authority's vision for Contra Costa and it establishes goals, strategies, specific projects, and other actions for achieving that vision.
The Authority released a draft update to the CTP, and a Draft Supplemental Environmental Impact Report (DSEIR) on the CTP in 2014.
At the end of 2015, the Authority decided to delay the adoption of the update to the CTP. The delay will allow the Authority to address issues raised during the review of the draft update of the CTP and the DSEIR, as well as to respond to changes in the evaluation of transportation impacts resulting from SB 743.
Now, the Authority is restarting the CTP process, with the intent of completing the 2017 CTP Update during Calendar Year 2017. To kickoff the process, the Authority has issued a new Notice of Preparation, which can be downloaded below.
