Carpools & Vanpools
The Authority recognizes that congestion relief comes in many forms. That is why it supports alternatives to commuting in a single occupant vehicle.
Primarily funding goes to support the 511 Contra Costa program. Whether it is commuting to school or to work, 511 Contra Costa was formed to promote and facilitate carpooling, vanpooling and riding transit to help relieve congestion and improve air quality.
The TDM program is supported by three separate funding sources:
- Transportation Fund for Clean Air (TFCA) grants from the Bay Area Air Quality Management District (BAAQMD)
- Measure C/J
- Congestion Mitigation Air Quality (CMAQ) federal funds through MTC
